On October 21, 2025, Rio Rancho Police Officers responded to a report of a highly intoxicated female driving on dirt roads outside of town. The callers stated that a male passenger exited the vehicle and the male and female driver were verbally arguing. By the time Officers arrived, the woman had driven away and the male could not be located. 2 hours later, Officer Koger located a vehicle matching the description and initiated a traffic stop. He made contact with the 20-year-old driver, who admitted to consuming alcohol. Meanwhile, the police department was receiving calls about the lost male yelling for help in the desert. Officer Roskos arrived to conduct a DWI investigation on the woman. She performed standardized field sobriety tests and was eventually arrested for DWI. At the police station, she provided two breath samples and both registered 0.14% BAC. Officer Roskos then transported her to the Sandoval County Detention Center. Her case is still open and all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
