A high-ranking U.S. Air Force officer and periodontist based at Hurlburt Field was arrested in Tiger Point, Florida after a high-speed traffic stop turned into a chaotic confrontation. According to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office, Lt. Col. Michelle Bongiovi, 59, was clocked at 73 mph in a 55 mph zone, refused to provide documentation, and resisted deputies' commands. After several warnings, officers broke her vehicle window with a baton and forcibly removed her from the SUV. Deputies reported signs of impairment, including dilated pupils and bizarre statements, leading to her arrest for DUI, resisting an officer, and failure to obey a lawful order.
