On October 19, 2025, Stephenson County Sheriff's Deputy Cotter stopped a 31-year-old woman for speeding. She was unable to provide any identification. Deputy Cotter called for a K-9 unit from the Freeport Police Department to perform an exterior search of the woman's vehicle. The woman was asked to exit her vehicle but she failed to comply. As a result, she was removed from the vehicle by Deputy Cotter and was arrested for resisting an officer. Her charges are listed at the end of the video. Her case is still open and all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
