On August 24, 2025, Waldwick Police Officer Sherman stopped a motorist for not having taillights on after dark. The vehicle was being driven by a 32-year-old woman. Officer Sherman stated he could smell alcohol coming from inside the vehicle. The woman stated she had a friend in the vehicle and he had been drinking. At this point, the woman called her husband who showed up minutes later. The woman was asked to step out of the vehicle in order to perform standardized field sobriety tests. She made numerous excuses why she could not perform them, but repeatedly claimed that she passed all of them. Officer Sherman indicated that he detected signs of impairment and placed the woman under arrest. She was transported to the police station and the police report indicates she refused to provide breath samples. Her charges are listed at the end of the video. All suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
