On January 31, 2026, Rio Rancho Police Officer Roskos observed a vehicle allegedly traveling 78 miles per hour (MPH) in a 45 MPH zone. As a result, he initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle. When he reached the driver's side door, there was no one sitting behind the wheel. The owner of the vehicle was sitting in the passenger's seat and an 18-year-old woman was sitting in the back seat. Both individuals denied being the driver. Officer Roskos concluded that the much shorter woman was the driver because the driver's seat was positioned very close to the steering wheel. The woman was given field sobriety tests and denied several times that she had consumed alcohol. She was placed under arrest and was transported to the Rio Rancho police station. She provided two breath samples, which registered 0.20% and 0.18% BAC. Her charges and the outcome of her case are discussed at the end of the video.
