An officer's routine inquiry quickly uncovers signs of impairment, leading to an arrest and a separate property dispute involving a third party. Responding to a report of a suspicious male, an officer gave the individual a ride to a nearby residence. Upon arrival, a woman exited a vehicle holding a bowl of cereal, displaying an unsteady gait, and was observed with white powder residue in her nostrils. Despite denying alcohol consumption, her behavior prompted standardized field sobriety exercises. She failed multiple tests, including showing a circular sway in the Modified Romberg Balance Test, lacking smooth pursuit during the HGN test, and being unable to walk straight or maintain balance during the Walk and Turn and One Leg Stand tests. Consequently, she was arrested for physical control of a motor vehicle, while her associate was informed he was no longer welcome on the property and needed to gather his packed belongings. --- Transparency through the lens of the law.
