On February 20, 2025, Athens Police Officer Doerr observed a vehicle driving without headlights on. He initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, which was being driven by a 21-year-old woman. She claimed that she was returning home after picking her friends up from a bar. She also admitted to consuming 1 glass of wine. Officer Doerr asked the woman to step out of the vehicle so that Officer Marcinko could perform standardized field sobriety tests. At the conclusion of the tests, the woman was placed under arrest for Operating a Vehicle Impaired (OVI). She was transported to the Athens Police Station, where she agreed to submit to a breath alcohol test. The result was 0.223% BAC.
