On August 14, 2025, Libertyville Police Officers Kapica and Fischer observed a vehicle driving with expired registration. They initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, which was being driven by a 33-year-old woman. Officer Kapica, however, thought the driver was a man. When the driver admitted to consuming alcohol, she was asked to step out of the vehicle in order to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which included a portable breath test (PBT). The result of the PBT was 0.149% BAC. Officer Kapica placed the woman under arrest and thinking she was a man, he conducted a very thorough pat-down search. That is when the woman advised him that she was a female. She was transported to the police station and the police report indicates she provided an evidentiary breath sample. The result was 0.135% BAC. Her charges and the outcome of her case are discussed at the end of the video.
