It really helps us do original reporting like this. 🔍 Episode Overview: At around 11:00 AM on January 20, 2025, Sergeant Michael Gulla from the Boonton Police Department responded to a medical emergency at the intersection of Vreeland Avenue and Myrtle Avenue. When he arrived, he saw a 2018 Lexus GX4 stopped in the middle of the street. A woman was unconscious behind the wheel, and the car was still in drive. Sergeant Gulla woke her up and asked her to get out of the vehicle. The woman was later identified as Jenna Matthews. Inside the car, officers saw several cans of air duster in plain sight. Jenna stepped out of the vehicle, and Officer Michael Bost took her to the nearby McDonald's parking lot to continue the investigation. She denied drinking alcohol but admitted to inhaling from the air duster. A white powdery substance was visible around her nostrils. Because the officers suspected she was impaired, Jenna was asked to perform field sobriety tests. After completing the tests, Jenna was checked by first responders, then handcuffed and placed in the patrol car. She agreed to a search of her vehicle, which revealed multiple cans of air duster. The police then took her to the Boonton Police Department for processing. Her car was impounded for 12 hours under John’s Law. At the station, Jenna was read the Standard Statement for Motor Vehicle Operators and agreed to take a breath test. The breathalyzer machine detected interference caused by chemical residue left in her mouth and stopped the test. After finishing paperwork, first responders took Jenna to Saint Clare’s Hospital in Denville for more testing. She was later released to her mother, pending her court date, after signing a warning form on her mother’s behalf.
