On May 11, 2023, a deputy investigating a report of a suspicious male encountered a woman, Jessie Stevens, exiting a vehicle while holding a bowl of cereal. The officer noted white powder residue in her nostrils and suspected impairment, leading to the administration of standardized field sobriety tests. Despite Jessie's denials, her inability to adequately perform the Modified Romberg Balance, Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus, Walk and Turn, and One Leg Stand exercises led to her arrest for physical control of a motor vehicle. She was transported to a detention facility, where she later admitted to having snorted Neurontin, though she refused chemical testing for alcohol.
