Arrest on 4/18/2024: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RoQQT0EsaU4 Arrest on 10/23/2025: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7sDAkYbFC74 Around 4:12 PM on April 10, 2025, Officers Patrick Thompson, Daniel Foesel, and Sean Coleman with the Hanover Township Police Department responded to Walmart (235 Ridgedale Avenue) on report of group of females who were throwing items around. They claimed that at least 1 of the individuals had previously been trespassed from the store. They made contact with the 6-foot tall woman who was allegedly trespassing from the store, and she was identified as 23-year-old Candie House. Since she did not have her identification with her, Officer Thompson ran her name and date of birth through the system. It was determined that she had already been trespassed from the store. Since she was not permitted to be there, Candie was informed that she was being placed under arrest for trespassing. Officer Thompson placed Candie in handcuffs, escorted her to the patrol car, and transported her to the Hanover Township Police Department for further processing. She was charged with criminal trespass (2C:18-3B) for this particular incident. It was determined that Candie was also involved in an earlier shoplifting incident at ShopRite on April 7, 2025, so she was charged with shoplifting (2C:20-11B(1)) for that incident. Court records indicate that on January 12, 2026, Candie pleaded guilty to criminal trespass and was fined a total of $730 dollars for both incidents. The other shoplifting charge from ShopRite was dismissed as part of the plea agreement. Following this incident, Candie was later arrested again for shoplifting in Boonton, NJ on October 23, 2025. Candie has previously been arrested for the following incidents: -Disorderly conduct (2C:33-2A(1)) in Newark, NJ on March 5, 2025 -Simple assault (2C:12-1A(1)) and disorderly conduct (2C:33-2A(1)) in Morristown, NJ on October 19, 2024 -Shoplifting (2C:20-11B(1)), resisting arrest (2C:29-2A(1)), and obstruction (2C:29-1A) in Hanover Township, NJ on April 18, 2024 -Theft (2C:20-3A) and hindering (2C:29-3B(4)) in Parsippany, NJ on June 21, 2023 -Shoplifting (2C:20-11B(1)) and conspiracy (2C:5-2A(1)) in Hanover Township, NJ on July 25, 2022 ---------------------------------------------- Please LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, and consider supporting this channel (email us for more information). This is similar to other law enforcement channels on YouTube. All videos and case documents were obtained pursuant to the New Jersey Open Public Records Act, N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq. (P.L. 2024, c.16). Defendants are considered innocent until proven guilty. The New Jersey Supreme Court has previously affirmed in Salzano v. North Jersey Media Group, 993 A.2d 778 (2010) that “The fair-report privilege reflects the judgment that the need, in a self-governing society, for free-flowing information about matters of public interest outweighs concerns over the uncompensated injury to a person's reputation.” This video advances a compelling public interest. The summary of events was based on records that are “open to public view through open access to public records” as defined in the Salzano case. In Ramos v. Flowers, 429 N.J. Super. 13, the Appellate Division of the Superior Court has also affirmed the right to film law enforcement interactions.
