🚨 **High-Speed Police Pursuit Ends in Rollover Crash After PIT Maneuver** On July 31, 2026, an Arkansas State Police trooper attempted to stop a white Kia Optima after it was observed driving left of center and failing to maintain control on Interstate 40. According to the arrest report, the driver, identified as Patrick Johns, initially pulled over but fled after the trooper approached the vehicle. The pursuit continued onto I-630 and through Little Rock, where the vehicle reached speeds exceeding 100 mph, weaved through traffic, ran a red light, and traveled in the opposing lane of traffic. Due to the dangerous driving behavior and the pursuit entering a populated area on a Friday night, a Tactical Vehicle Intervention (TVI/PIT maneuver) was performed. The vehicle left the roadway, overturned near Club 1836, and struck a power pole cable, brick terraces, and a sign before coming to rest. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and transported to UAMS with non-life-threatening injuries. A search of the vehicle reportedly located marijuana and an open container of alcohol. Evidence was collected and submitted to the Arkansas State Crime Lab.
