On January 18, 2026, Santa Fe County Sheriff's Deputy Wynne observed a vehicle turn into a left turn lane and then proceed straight through the intersection without turning. He initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, which was being driven by a 23-year-old woman. Almost immediately the woman started crying. She admitted to drinking alcohol, so Deputy Wynne called Deputy Ward to come to the location to begin a Driving While Under the Influence (DWI) investigation. The woman was asked to step out the vehicle in order to perform standardized field sobriety tests. Due to her anxiety and intoxication, she was unable to complete any of the tests. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Sheriff's Office. She submitted two breath samples and the results were 0.20% and 0.21% BAC. Her charges are listed at the end of the video. Her case is still open and all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
