Three occupants bailed out and hid off Clinton Cemetery Road, throwing a loaded AR-15-style short barreled rifle and a bag of cocaine into the woods, where both were later recovered by deputies. An additional firearm was recovered from their vehicle. As Deputy Bissonnette and Senior Deputy Whitson approached with K-9 Red, all three suspects announced themselves, put their hands in the air and were taken into custody without incident. Lee Chappell (DOB 1/19/1995) was charged with fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement, resisting on officer without violence and DWLSR habitual (total bond $16,000), along with several traffic citations.
