This explosive bodycam clip from December 5, 2022, captures a heated exchange during the arrest of Daniel Hilts, a 32-year-old patron from Punta Gorda, Florida, at Anthony’s Restaurant & Pub in Joliet, Illinois. Filmed in the parking lot at 1:50 AM, this YouTube Short shows Hilts demanding a cigarette, yelling, “I need a cigarette from my property,” and accusing an officer of lying, “You’re a fucking liar, dude.” Ordered to leave, Hilts rants about tipping—“I tipped 50% on Fridays, bro”—before officers offer a ride home, saying, “Come on, I’ll take you home.” This wild clash is prime for true crime fans. The drama ignited when Hilts, ejected from Anthony’s for causing a scene, tried to drive his car, drawing in Officers Joseph Robinson and Robert Bukala. After rejecting ride-shares or a security escort to his nearby hotel, Hilts got hostile, leading to a takedown and charges of aggravated battery to a peace officer, aggravated assault, obstructing justice, criminal trespass to property, and resisting arrest. The neon-soaked Anthony’s parking lot sets a raw stage for this real-life crime saga, perfect for fans of unfiltered police bodycam heat. True crime fans will eat up Hilts’ fiery demands and bizarre tip rant, offering a gritty peek into a tense cop showdown. The ride offer and accusations crank up the drama in this chaotic arrest.
