On April 4, 2025, trooper bodycam footage captured a shocking and chaotic encounter on the Ohio Turnpike involving 30-year-old Deshawn Leeth. After crashing his vehicle near the Pennsylvania state line, Deshawn Leeth was found walking along the shoulder, appearing dazed and holding his head. When approached by the trooper, he quickly became aggressive and issued a chilling threat: “Next time you touch me, you gonna die.” Moments later, Leeth charged the officer, triggering a violent struggle where the Taser failed to subdue him. Deshawn Leeth overpowered the trooper, escaped, and stole the police cruiser, initiating a wild 11-minute chase across state lines into Pennsylvania. While driving the stolen cruiser, Leeth shouted erratically and claimed to be speaking to Jesus. The pursuit ended when he flipped the vehicle and was fatally shot by responding officers.
