At 1:29 a.m. on May 17th, 2025, a Sandoval County deputy clocked a white Buick going 65 mph in a 45 zone on Unser Boulevard, New Mexico. The vehicle was swerving across lanes before stopping in the middle turn lane. The driver, identified as 22-year-old Adilene Hernandez Mota, appeared intoxicated with bloodshot, watery eyes, heavily slurred speech, and a strong odor of alcohol. She was shirtless when contacted by the deputy and retrieved clothing from the backseat before exiting the car. After failing field sobriety tests, she was arrested for Aggravated DWI and transported to the DWI testing facility. Despite being read the Implied Consent Advisory, Mota refused to take a breath test multiple times, causing the machine to time out.
