On October 18, 2023, Gahanna Police Officer Hoffman used his radar device to record a vehicle traveling over the speed limit. He initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and, according to the police report, Officer Hoffman detected the odor of burnt marijuana. She asked the 22 year-old driver to step out of the vehicle in order to perform standardized field sobriety tests (FSTs). She was eventually placed under arrest for driving impaired. Once she was placed in the back of the patrol car, she began yelling and screaming at the officers. This continued all the way to the police station. Once at the police station, she submitted to a urine test. However, the police report indicates that her urine specimen was only tested for alcohol and none was detected. Her court date was 6 days after her arrest and she failed to appear. There is currently a warrant out for her arrest. All suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
