A student's explosive emotional breakdown over alleged infidelity escalates into a physical altercation, leading to an unexpected arrest. At Central Regional High School, an altercation between two students in the parking lot was observed by patrol officers. The incident escalated as one student, identified as Ava, was seen yelling, throwing a phone, and striking the other individual multiple times in the head, accusing him of cheating with her friend and his sister. Despite the other student declining to press charges, officers, after reviewing surveillance footage that corroborated the assault, determined it to be a domestic case. Ava was informed of her arrest for Simple Assault in the Guidance office, then escorted to a patrol car, handcuffed by Patrolman Hendrickson, and transported to police headquarters for processing. She was subsequently charged with Simple Assault under 2C:12-1A(1) and released, with her court case pending and transferred to another municipal court to avoid a conflict of interest. --- Transparency through the lens of the law.
