It really helps us do original reporting like this. 🔍 Episode Overview: On April 16, 2024, at about 10:54 PM, Patrolman Taylor Doremus from the Red Bank Police Department spotted a 2018 Land Rover driving in a strange manner. He turned on his emergency lights to pull the car over. The driver stopped on Riverside Avenue near Allen Place. When he approached the vehicle, he found the driver was 26-year-old Julianna. While talking to Julianna, he noticed the smell of alcohol and other signs that she might be impaired. Curious, he asked her where she had been. Julianna replied that she was on her way home from Gabriella’s, a well-liked Italian steakhouse in Red Bank. When he inquired about her drinks, she admitted to having two before getting behind the wheel. After observing Julianna's erratic driving and suspecting she might be impaired, Patrolman Doremus asked her to step out of the car. He began with the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN) test to assess her responsiveness. Next, he had her do the Walk and Turn test. Finally, she was instructed to perform the One Leg Stand test. Julianna's driving was erratic. She showed signs of impairment and struggled with the field sobriety tests. Because of this, she was arrested for driving under the influence. After her arrest, Julianna was taken to the Red Bank Police Department for processing. Patrolman Doremus explained the Standard Statement for Motor Vehicle Operators to her. Julianna chose not to provide breath samples for testing. She received several traffic tickets, including operating under the influence, refusing a chemical test, reckless driving, not staying in marked lanes, and failing to show her driver registration and insurance card.
