It really helps us do original reporting like this. 🔍 Episode Overview: On April 24, 2025, just past 11:41 PM, Officer Tyler Glancy of the Lakewood Police Department spotted a silver 2018 Toyota 4-Runner weaving across lanes on Detroit Avenue. He flipped on his emergency lights for a stop. The driver soon parked in the Garfield Middle School lot. Glancy stepped out and approached the Toyota's driver, identified as Vanja Stanisic. She said she was heading home from her job at Fairview Hospital. While talking, he smelled alcohol and saw signs of impairment. Suspecting trouble, he asked her to do field sobriety tests. First came the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus test. Glancy noted no smooth eye tracking, clear shaking at the edge, and jerking before 45 degrees. Next, the Walk and Turn test. She missed heel-to-toe steps and turned wrong. Last, the One Leg Stand. Vanja didn't lift her foot right and dropped it too soon. Her wild driving, the alcohol smell, her own words about drinking, and the failed tests led Glancy to arrest her for Operating a Vehicle Impaired. A quick search of her car turned up a bottle of Oxycodone pills prescribed to someone else. After the cuffs, Vanja shared more. She'd been at a concert in Browns Stadium that night and admitted to two beers. They took her to the Lakewood Police Department for booking. There, officers read the ALS form, but she refused a breath test. Once done, they cited her for OVI under 4511.19 and left of center under 331.01.
