In the early morning hours of January 19, 2025, Santa Fe County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle that had driven on to the private property of the reporting party. Deputy Lujan arrived to encounter a vehicle that high centered itself on a landscape railroad tie. The 36-year-old driver was still behind the wheel trying to free the vehicle. Deputy Lujan's report indicates he could smell alcohol coming from the woman. The woman repeatedly mumbled and struggled to answer basic questions clearly. When Deputy Lujan returned to his patrol vehicle, the woman again attempted to free her vehicle from being wedged on the railroad tie. The woman was removed from the vehicle and was arrested for Driving While Under the Influence. She was read the New Mexico Implied Consent Law and refused to submit to chemical testing. The police report indicates this was her 5th DWI arrest and online court records confirm that fact. She was taken to the local hospital before being transported to the Santa Fe County Jail.
