A routine traffic stop quickly unravels as an officer encounters a driver claiming a panic attack, revealing a deeper, dangerous situation. The incident began when a school staff member reported a potentially impaired teacher, leading officers to locate a silver 2015 Hyundai driving erratically. During the stop, the driver informed officers she was having a panic attack, yet clear indicators of impairment were observed, necessitating backup for a DUI investigation. The driver initially refused to exit the vehicle for field sobriety exercises but eventually complied. Officers administered several tests, during which the driver exhibited significant difficulties, failing to perform the Walk and Turn and One Leg Stand exercises correctly. Based on erratic driving and FSE failures, she was arrested for driving under the influence. A subsequent search of her vehicle revealed six bottles of vodka, and breath samples at the police department indicated BAC levels nearly four times the legal limit, leading to her citation and transport to jail. --- Transparency through the lens of the law.
