Around 7:06 PM on September 27, 2025, Sergeant James Flynn with the North Wildwood Police Department first responded to the intersection of E 24th Avenue and Central Avenue on a report of a motor vehicle accident involving entrapment. He made contact with a crowd of people who had gathered around an overturned golf cart. The golf cart was turned sideways on the passenger side. First responders with the North Wildwood Fire Department were already on scene, and they assisted the 28-year-old female passenger that was entrapped. They eventually extricated her and she was transported to Cooper Cape Regional Medical Center. The male who was driving the golf cart told Officer James Bright that he was driving south on Central Avenue, and the driver of the other car “smoked” the stop sign before crashing into them. Officer Paige Dooley arrived on scene and made contact with the driver of the 2020 Kia Optima that had struck the golf cart. The driver was identified as Jennifer Schofield. She had a laceration on her left forehead, and claimed that she was the sole occupant Kia. After the crash, she left the vehicle at the Cardinal Motel where she happened to be staying. She said that she had been at The Wharf earlier that evening, and admitted to consuming alcohol. Sergeant Flynn reviewed the surveillance footage nearby, which confirmed that Jennifer struck the golf cart at a high rate of speed. As the officers were speaking with Jennifer, they observed indicators of impairment. Jennifer was then asked to perform field sobriety exercises. Officer Bright started with the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN) test. During the HGN test, Officer Bright observed 6/6 indicators of impairment. The second exercise was the Walk and Turn test. During the Walk and Turn test, Jennifer failed to touch heel-to-toe on each step, turned improperly, and took an incorrect number of steps. The final exercise was the One Leg Stand test. During the One Leg Stand test, Jennifer failed to raise her foot in the proper fashion and put her foot down before the test was complete. Based on the crash, the odor of alcohol, her admission to consuming alcohol, and her inability to satisfactorily perform the field sobriety exercises, Jennifer was placed under arrest DWI. She was transported to the North Wildwood Police Department for further processing. Her vehicle was impounded for a mandatory 12-hour hold under John’s Law. At the station, she agreed to submit breath samples around 8:10 PM. However, she burped twice around 8:19 PM and 8:26 PM, so the observation period was restarted at 8:37 PM. Her final breath sample was provided at 9:04 PM (almost 2 hours later), and it indicated a BAC level of 0.076%. She also admitted that she takes 115 milligrams of Methadone daily for addiction to opioids. After they processed her, Jennifer was released to Calvin Kramer after he signed the Potential Liability Warning form on Jennifer's behalf. Officer Bright issued her the following citations: -Operating under the influence (39:4-50) -Reckless driving (39:4-96) -Careless driving (39:4-97) -Leaving the scene of an accident involving personal injury (39:4-129A) -Failure to report accident (39:4-130) -Disregarding a stop sign (39:4-144) -Failure to possess driver license (39:3-29) -Failure to possess driver registration (39:3-29B) -Failure to possess driver insurance card (39:3-29C) On January 20, 2026, Jennifer was found guilty of DWI and failure to report an accident. As a result, she had to spend 12 hours at an intoxicated driver resource center and pay a total of $780 in fines. The other 7 citations were dismissed. Jennifer has previously been arrested for possession (2C:35-10A(1)) in Westville, NJ on August 1, 2005. Prior to that, she was arrested for harassment (2C:33-4A) on March 13, 2003 based on allegations from January 1, 2002. ------------------------------------------ Please LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, and consider supporting this channel (email us for more information).
