On June 14, 2024, emergency dispatchers received a 911 text message proclaiming "my mother is drunk". Police dispatchers were able to text back and forth until they had an accurate description and location of the vehicle. Patrolman Stango located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. Two young girls sitting in the back seat were in a panic. One screamed out, "My mom is on probation and she is drunk!" The 36-year-old mother was asked to step out of the vehicle, but she was too intoxicated to complete field sobriety tests. She was placed under arrest and was transported to the police station where she provided a breath sample. The result was 0.27% BAC. Her two young daughters were also taken to the police station, where they watched movies until their grandfather arrived to take custody of them. The woman was eventually transported to the Cape May County Correctional Center. Her charges were listed at the end of the video. Her case is still open and all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
