A routine traffic stop quickly reveals significant impairment, leading to a challenging breathalyzer process and a high BAC result. An officer initiated a traffic stop after observing a vehicle make multiple turns without signaling and nearly strike a curb in the early morning hours. Upon contact, the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol and observed signs of impairment in the 19-year-old driver, who became uncooperative and refused field sobriety exercises. This led to her arrest for driving under the influence. At the police department, the officer read the driver her rights and implied consent warning, after which she agreed to provide breath samples. During the observation period, she admitted to consuming alcohol, and subsequent tests revealed a blood alcohol content significantly above the legal limit.
