A traffic stop for minor infractions quickly escalates to a DUI arrest, leading to a young woman's uncertain wait in a police holding cell. An officer initiated a traffic stop after observing a vehicle make several unsignaled turns and nearly strike a curb. Upon contact, he noted signs of impairment, including alcohol odor and bloodshot eyes, and the driver, a 19-year-old, refused field sobriety exercises. Subsequently arrested for driving under the influence, she was transported to the station where breathalyzer tests confirmed a blood alcohol content of 0.179%. While in a holding cell, the detained individual repeatedly questioned the officer about the return of her personal belongings, specifically jewelry, and the exact duration of her impending release, highlighting the emotional toll and uncertainty of her confinement. She was ultimately released with a summons after processing, later pleading guilty to DUI. --- Transparency through the lens of the law.
