Today, the Portland Police Bureau held a media availability following the visit of DHS Secretary Kristi Noem to the ICE facility in South Waterfront. The Secretary met with Chief Bob Day earlier in the day and again later alongside Mayor Keith Wilson. Chief Day emphasized open communication, public safety, regional collaboration, and the need to reduce conflict near the facility while maintaining space for lawful First Amendment activity.
