A high school altercation over alleged infidelity leads to a student's arrest amidst conflicting claims of assault and denial. The incident began around 9:00 AM when officers responded to reports of two students arguing in a parking lot. Patrolman Eichen observed a young woman, identified as 18-year-old Ava, yelling at another individual, calling him a cheater, and then throwing a phone at him, striking him multiple times in the back of the head. Ava claimed the individual had cheated on her and pulled her hair, a claim officers could not corroborate with surveillance footage, which instead showed her initiating the physical altercation. Despite the other individual declining to press charges, officers proceeded with an arrest for Simple Assault due to the domestic nature of the case, informing Ava in the Guidance office before escorting her to a patrol car for processing. Her case has since been transferred to another municipal court, likely to avoid a conflict of interest, and remains pending. --- Transparency through the lens of the law.
