#news #police #arrest #cops #walmart #shoplifting Report: On 12/11/2021, Officer responded to Walmart. in reference to a shoplifting. Upon arrival officer met with the loss prevention agent for Wal-Mart. Loss prevention stated a male subject inside Wal-Mart tried on working boots from Walmart and put his pair he came in with inside the box of the pair he had on. Loss prevention stated the male subject started to walk around the store with the boots on his feet. The employee stated the male subject started to walk towards the exit of the store. Upon reaching the exit, the male subject attempted to leave the store as loss prevention was attempting to get him back into the loss prevention office. Loss prevention stated he finally got the male subject to walk into the office. Officer was able to speak with the male subject who stated he did not have a wallet, nor a driver's license on his person. Officer ran the male subject through central communication with the name and date of birth he provided. Central notified the officer that the suspect had warrants out of Hull County for failure to appear for a traffic offense. The suspect stated he was trying on the boots and walking through the store. The suspect stated he realized he didn't have his wallet on him, so proceeded to leave the store. The suspect stated as he was leaving the store, loss prevention approached him asking for the boots on his feet. The suspect stated that's when he realized the boots were still on his feet. The suspect was placed in custody (DL/BB) and searched. While searching the suspects bookbag, the suspect had in his possession (2) bottles of wine from Wal-Mart and a stick of butter that was also from Wal-Mart. The suspect was barred from the location by the Loss Prevention staff for a period of (2) years. The suspect was transported to the county jail and released into their custody with no further incident.
