According to investigators, the situation stemmed from a disagreement related to property use. Before deputies arrived, 32-year-old Aaron Rodriguez allegedly shot an adult male, who was later pronounced deceased at the scene. When deputies reached the location, they located Rodriguez inside a nearby garage. Officials say multiple attempts were made to de-escalate the situation through verbal commands, but Rodriguez remained armed and did not comply. An exchange of gunfire followed, during which one deputy was struck. Deputies returned fire, hitting Rodriguez and bringing the confrontation to an end. He was taken into custody at the scene, and a firearm was recovered. Rodriguez, the injured female victim, and the deputy were all transported to a local hospital.
