A fatal hit-and-run leads to a surrender, revealing the heavy cost of fleeing a scene of tragedy. On September 18, 2023, a woman in a wheelchair was tragically struck by a vehicle and subsequently run over by two other cars, resulting in her death. Witnesses reported seeing a blue Subaru initiate the collision before fleeing the scene. Days later, the driver, a young woman in her early 20s, voluntarily turned herself in, admitting she fled out of fear and because she was driving a borrowed vehicle. Officers processed her for booking, during which she was asked to remove her personal items, including bracelets, reflecting the standard procedure for intake. She was subsequently charged with leaving the scene of a fatality collision and booked into the detention center, facing severe legal consequences for the incident. --- Transparency through the lens of the law.
