On February 10, 2024, deputies from the Miami County Sheriff's Office in Ohio responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a SUV that was stuck in a ditch. A Good Smartian had removed the 21-year-old woman from her vehicle and allowed her to sit in his truck. Deputy Mahaffy was first on scene and asked the woman if she had consumed any alcohol. When she admitted to drinking, she was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests. Due to her extreme lack of balance, the tests were stopped prematurely and she was placed under arrest for DUI. She was transported to the Sheriff's Office and given the opportunity to blow into an evidential breath testing machine. Her incredible drama and rambling caused the machine to time out on the first attempt. Body cameras were turned off when she was allowed to use the restroom. However, the police report confirms she eventually blew a 0.214% BAC. She was charged with Operating a Vehicle Impaired and Failure to Control. All suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
