Port St. Lucie, Florida — March 23, 2026 A Port St. Lucie Police Officer attempted to stop a motorcyclist, later identified as 20-year-old Malachi Venerin, after allegedly clocking him traveling at 103 mph on SW Gatlin Boulevard. According to investigators, Venerin refused to stop and accelerated away from the officer. During the encounter, police say the motorcycle struck the officer before the pursuit continued. Authorities said Venerin eventually lost control of the motorcycle, crashed, and fled the scene on foot. The situation escalated when he allegedly ran into a nearby fast-food drive-thru and attempted to enter multiple occupied vehicles, causing concern for the safety of customers in the area. Officers were able to take Venerin into custody without further incident. Following his arrest, investigators reportedly recovered a backpack containing a loaded handgun, illegal drugs, and packaging materials consistent with drug distribution. Venerin was charged with aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, fleeing and eluding, possession of a concealed firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a person under 21, resisting without violence, driving with a suspended license, operating a motorcycle without an endorsement, driving an unregistered vehicle, possession of a controlled substance (THC cartridges), and possession of marijuana with intent to sell. At the time of publication, Venerin remains housed at the St. Lucie County Jail on a $128,000 bond. His motorcycle was also impounded.
