On January 20, 2025, Arkansas State Trooper Ethan Sanders initiated a pursuit of a stolen 2012 Ram 1500 on State Highway 69 near Lonoke Lane in Independence County, Arkansas. The suspect, Aaron Laxton, refused to stop, driving recklessly and dangerously—crossing into oncoming traffic and brake-checking the officer in an attempt to cause a collision. Trooper Sanders executed a Tactical Vehicle Intervention (TVI), causing the stolen truck to roll multiple times before coming to rest in a field. Laxton was immediately taken into custody after a brief struggle and transported for medical evaluation before being booked into jail.
