A late-night traffic stop in Essex, Maryland, turned into a chilling homicide investigation when officers opened the trunk of Nicole Michelle Johnson’s car and discovered two decomposing bodies inside. The victims were her own niece, 7-year-old Joshlyn Johnson, and nephew, 5-year-old Larry O’Neal. Police say Nicole had been living with the children’s remains in her car for over a year, moving between motels without anyone noticing the children were missing. During interrogation, Nicole admitted to the deaths but blamed family stress and exhaustion, offering disturbing details of how each child died. In February 2025, she was sentenced to 50 years in prison. This documentary reveals the bodycam footage, the moment of discovery, and the unanswered questions about how two children vanished without a trace — and no one went looking for them.
