An officer arrived to assist a man in retrieving his belongings from a home. As the man attempted to walk away, a female resident abruptly walked past the officer and struck the man in the back of the head. When the officer attempted to place the woman under arrest, she actively resisted, pulling away and striking the officer multiple times in the chest and shoulder. The officer unholstered a Taser and gave loud verbal commands for her to get on the ground. The woman's mother then physically stepped between her daughter and the officer, using her body to shield her pregnant daughter from the Taser and the arrest. The father then intervened, yelling at the officer and eventually shutting the garage door to secure his daughter inside and block law enforcement access. These charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. An arrest is not a finding of guilt: that’s something for a court to decide.
