A nighttime traffic stop quickly escalates when an officer observes erratic driving and detects signs of impairment from the young woman behind the wheel. Her initial refusal to cooperate with field sobriety exercises, coupled with a high BAC reading, leads to an arrest for driving under the influence. Following a traffic infraction, the driver, identified as a 19-year-old, initially attempts to deflect questions with humor but soon admits to operating the vehicle despite indicators of impairment, including watery, bloodshot eyes and the scent of alcohol. After refusing field sobriety tests, she was arrested and transported to the police department where she eventually submitted to a breath test, revealing a blood alcohol content of 0.179%. She was later released with a summons to appear in court, ultimately pleading guilty to DUI, resulting in a suspended jail sentence, probation, and license suspension. --- Transparency through the lens of the law.
