On May 21, 2023, at 7:03 PM, Sergeant Matthew Gajewski of the Union Beach Police Department encountered a disabled Toyota SUV with a flat tire on Shore Road. The driver, 45-year-old Justine Meadow, claimed she had a flat due to hitting a pothole. However, her slurred speech and the strong odor of alcohol raised immediate suspicion. When asked for her license, registration, and insurance, Justine refused and denied being intoxicated.
