On October 8, 2024, Santa Fe County Sheriff's Lt. Garcia observed a vehicle nearly strike a curb while negotiating a turn. He initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, which was being driven by a 28-year-old woman. Lt. Gracia requested the assistance of a trainee deputy and her field training officer. Deputy Molloy and Corporal Hancock arrived to take over the investigation. The woman was asked to step out of the vehicle in order to perform standardized field sobriety tests. She immediately advised the deputies that she couldn't stand, walk, or balance due to a bad knee. She was eventually arrested for Driving While Under the Influence and transported to the Sheriff's Station. She submitted to a breath alcohol test and the result was 0.25% BAC. Her charges and the outcome of her case are discussed at the end of the video.
