The car kept swerving into parking spaces along the road. Officer Perry started following the vehicle, watching as the driver stopped in the left turn lane at E Carpenter Street and E State Street. When the driver finally turned onto E State Street, the car went over the speed limit and continued to weave. Officer Perry turned on her sirens and pulled the vehicle over near Kindred Market. She approached the driver, a woman named Lacie. When Officer Perry made contact, she immediately smelled alcohol. She also noticed Lacie was wearing a wristband. Wondering if she had been drinking, Officer Perry asked Lacie, who then admitted to having three drinks at Casa Neuva earlier that night. Suspicious of impairment, Officer Perry asked her to do some field sobriety tests. The first test was the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN). During this test, Officer Perry saw signs of impairment—Lacie’s eyes didn’t move smoothly, and there was noticeable nystagmus at maximum deviation. The nystagmus started before 45 degrees. Next was the Walk and Turn test. Lacie failed to touch heel to toe properly and used her arms for balance. Lastly, she did the One Leg Stand. She couldn’t keep her foot up properly and put it down early. Because of her wild driving, the smell of alcohol, her confession, and her poor performance on the tests, Officer Perry arrested Lacie for OVI. She was taken to the police station for more processing. At the station, Officer Perry read Lacie the OBMV 2255 form. Lacie agreed to give breath samples. Officer Doerr then used the breathalyzer, which showed a BAC of 0.184 grams per 210 liters of breath. That’s more than double the legal limit. After testing, Lacie was released to a friend’s care until her court date. Lacie received three citations: Operating a Vehicle Impaired under ORC 4511.19(A)(1)(a) Operating a Vehicle Impaired with BAC over 0.17 under ORC 4511.19(A)(1)(h) Left of Center under ORC 4511.29 36:00 omg not the bonus drunk 39:57 she asked the female cop if she was okay If you enjoyed this BodyCamBust video.
