On the morning of Saturday 25 January 2025, a Lady Lake police sergeant followed a white pickup through Lady Lake, Florida and stopped it in a shopping plaza. The reason was mundane. The licence plate on the truck was not assigned to that vehicle, or to any vehicle at all. What followed took a little over an hour. It is condensed here to the parts that matter, and it ends with the arrest of one of the FBI's Ten Most Wanted Fugitives. Source: Lady Lake Police Department, case L25001253. Donald Eugene Fields II had been a federal fugitive for nearly three years, indicted in the Eastern District of Missouri on a charge of child sex trafficking and added to the FBI's Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list in May 2023. He pleaded guilty in April 2026 and was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison in July 2026. This is public police body camera footage obtained through a public records request.
