Palm Beach County, FL - on July 1st 2025, Palm Beach County Sheriffs and detectives responded to a TD bank in reference to a male in the lobby attempting to cash a $8,000 fraudulent check. The banker learned he had successfully cashed a $6,000 check at a different location, and his account had already been reported, so he managed to stall time and call police. Heriberto Varela, 19, was charged with felony grand theft, felony uttering a forged instrument, felony use of personal ID, and felony organized scheme to defraud.
