On September 1, 2025, Rio Rancho Police Officers were dispatched to perform a welfare check on a woman who was believed to be sleeping in a vehicle parked on the side of the road. By the time Officer Baca arrived, a New Mexico State Police Officer had woken the 20-year-old woman up. The Rio Rancho Fire Department was also interviewing her. The woman denied consuming alcohol, but Officer Priddy initiated a Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) investigation because an open container of alcohol could be seen inside her vehicle. The woman was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests. At the conclusion of the tests, she was placed under arrest for DWI. She was transported to the Rio Rancho Police Station, where she agreed to provide breath samples. The results were 0.12% BAC and 0.11% BAC. Her charges are listed at the end of the video. Her case is still open and all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
