In Santa Fe, New Mexico, a routine night turned chaotic after reports of a naked man pointing a gun at citizens. This bodycam footage documents the high-risk situation involving suspect David Gebhardt, who was only subdued after officers deployed less-lethal bean bag rounds and a police K9. The investigation revealed a surprising twist: the weapon was a fake. This footage documents the swift response by Santa Fe Police to a dangerous situation near the Double Tree Hotel. The suspect, David Gebhardt (59), fled a traffic stop, crashed his SUV into a wall, and refused all commands. Officers resorted to a K9 deployment and 40mm impact munitions to bring the subject into custody safely.Gebhardt was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (due to the realistic prop gun) and Resisting an Officer. The video serves as an educational review of de-escalation failure and non-lethal force application in a high-stakes scenario.
