A Fireball bottle hits the street as BCSO deputies stop a drunk driver in Albuquerque. His last DWI got thrown out because of a dirty cop. This one didn't. 🎥 In today's copyrighted documentary, we report on an incident that occurred in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Bernalillo County deputies pull over a black SUV in northeast Albuquerque after it weaves across three lanes. It keeps rolling for a while before it stops. When they open the door, a bottle of Fireball hits the pavement. The driver is 37-year-old Carlos Crockett. He won't do field sobriety tests. He says he hasn't had a drink. Deputies arrest him for DWI, and he refuses the breath test too. Then he tells them, "You're gonna be Alba." Here's who he means. Honorio Alba Jr. was an Albuquerque police officer. For almost 30 years, a local defense lawyer paid cops cash and gifts to skip court, so drunk driving cases got thrown out. Alba was one of those cops. Months after he was named New Mexico's DWI officer of the year, the FBI raided his home. Alba had arrested Crockett for DWI in 2022. Once Alba was caught, prosecutors couldn't trust his cases, so they threw out 99 of them. Crockett's was one, and it was never proven. Alba pleaded guilty six days before this stop. Crockett isn't accused of being part of the scheme, and we found nothing tying these deputies to it. This case didn't go away. In July 2025, Crockett pleaded guilty to DWI, his fifth offense. The other charges were dropped. He got 365 days in jail. ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS: 00:00 DWI Stop Begins 00:17 Slow Roll Pursuit 01:47 Fireball Bottle Drop 02:11 Refuses To Identify 03:39 Deputy Reads Rights 05:12 Phone Vs Sobriety Tests 06:26 Bottle And Denials 08:28 Arrest And Implied Consent 10:10 Alba Scandal Explained 11:01 Breath Test Rant 15:09 Charges And Sentence 📺 MORE LIKE THIS — watch the latest Breaking Bodycams documentaries: 👉 https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL89-g15XsVc0WxE8UISQXCrCctoEPo46v 📌 ABOUT BREAKING BODYCAMS Breaking Bodycams covers law enforcement encounters across the country, with a heavy focus on the Southwest and New Mexico.
