It really helps us do original reporting like this. 🔍 Episode Overview: At about 5:45 in the morning on January 27, 2025, Officer Zackary Guido of the Hoboken Police saw a black 2016 Mercedes run a stop sign. The car was going south on Monroe Street near 5th Street. Guido pulled his patrol car behind the Mercedes and turned on his lights to make a stop. He got out and approached the driver, who was later identified as Lizabeth Bolinger. Guido noticed her eyes looked glassy and her speech was slurred. She said she was coming from a friend's house. Soon, officers Ricky Truppner and Jaydan Gonzalez arrived to help. Because they suspected she was intoxicated, Truppner asked her to step out of the car and do some field tests. The first test was the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN) test. Next, she did the Walk and Turn test. During that test, she didn’t keep her heel-to-toe position and stepped the wrong number of times. Truppner also tried to give her the One Leg Stand test, but she refused to cooperate. Given her traffic violation, her signs of impairment, and her refusal to finish the tests properly, she was placed under arrest for drunk driving. Her car was towed and held for 12 hours under John’s Law. Officers took her to the Hoboken Police Department for processing. At the station, she was read the standard statement for drivers. However, she refused to provide a breath sample. After paperwork was complete, she was released to a sober adult. The man signed a warning form on her behalf. Lizabeth received multiple tickets, including charges for driving under the influence, reckless driving, failure to stop or yield, and more. She also faced citations for not providing registration or proof of insurance, driving an unregistered vehicle, and driving with a suspended license and registration.
