was like like looks like it's stolen and then it came back stolen vehicle so I came back here and I was talking to her trying to ID who the guy was that walked away and then I was like and she like wouldn't give me much information just said he had a gas can he's going to get gas can so then uh I was like you step on the vehicle because she has nothing to do with us let me talk to this guy and cop for 10 years and ranked up the sergeant so I know a thing or two about law enforcement obviously when these cops approached this vehicle they were suspicious and I can't blame him I was suspicious too my first thought was human trafficking however as the situation progressed nothing was really pointing in that direction officers are within their rights to speak with and question anyone at any time however if they're going to detain someone or stop them without their consent they need reasonable articulable suspicion that criminal activity is a foot a hunch or a feeling isn't good enough you got to be able to explain why in this particular situation it didn't look like the officers had enough to detain this woman woman against her will however we got to keep in mind that the body cameras are limited they don't show everything they don't show what's going on in the officer's mind he might know something that we don't clearly this woman is very emotional she's scared and she's upset plus she's pregnant I know my wife can be pretty irritable when she's pregnant now personally I think she could have been a little more straightforward and Cooperative with the police that probably would have helped her out a little bit but officers did a decent job of calming her down to the point where nothing escalated to physical force and then the sergeant shows up and you can feel the energy of this interaction changing and frankly I'm getting a little upset with the police right now cuz they really seem to be amping this up for no reason she really hasn't done anything wrong I mean maybe the vehicle was illegally parked I don't know maybe the officers were just jealous of her pink sweatpants I sure was and then the truth came out the vehicle was stolen suddenly the officer's reaction doesn't seem like Overkill officers get a description for the suspect who is driving the vehicle and locate him at a nearby Shell station at first unsurprisingly he denies being inside the car however he's matching the description and a witness testimony is probable caused to make an arrest so officers place this man under arrest when the police ask the suspect to identify himself he provides them with his brother's name and date of birth giving the cops your brother's ID is a bad idea you're going to get another charge and it's going to make the next family reunion very awkward thanks to the officers no one was hurt and the suspect was apprehended thank you guys for watching and I'll see you in the next video the man was charged with Grand Theft of a motor vehicle and faced additional charges for providing false information after initially using his brother's identity after further investigation it was found that the woman had no connection to the stolen car and didn't even know it was stolen she was handed over to EMS without any charges [Music]
