You're a piece of little Got it. That's what you are. I walked away. I said I didn't feel safe. You were fully armed. You were putting your hands on me. You're a criminal piece of [ __ ] You're a criminal piece of You know what? You don't get to put your hands on a beautiful woman. You No, you don't. I never did. Yep. You did. I'm being arrested for being homeless. Cop put his hands on me. Cop put his hands on me. You Johnson, you picked the wrong one. You want to arrest a woman for being homeless? Everyone's going to hear it. I didn't do anything. She's talking way too much and screaming at me and stuff. Come on, step out. Nope. I am not paying attention to any of your orders because this is false arrest. Yeah, your mom would be proud. Yeah, this piece of put his hands on me and decided to arrest me in the square where I was sleeping. We were told by other police officers we were allowed to do that during the daytime. She was charged with three counts of obstruction. Hey everyone, it's Trent, prior deputy sheriff patrol sergeant and canine handler. And right up front, these officers were dispatched to this call, right? They didn't randomly just stumble upon these two individuals camping in the park. So, they were sent there because they were illegally camping. And right up front, some people might be asking, "Well, yeah, but it's a public area. It's open to the public. Why can't you just chill there?" So, traditionally, cities will have their own ordinances or municipal codes that prevent illegal camping in these parks because yes, they are open to the public, but at the end of the day, they are owned and operated by the city. So, you cannot camp in a non-desated camping area. And like that officer said toward the end, you cannot just post up your C sleeping bag and have all your stuff there just because you feel like it, right? And that first officer when he arrived on scene and talked to that guy, he just said, you know, you guys are just going to need to move along basically, but before you do so, I need to get your identifying information just for purposes of the call essentially. And then probably he was just going to let them go, right? It's not a big deal. Traditionally, illegal camping is just an infraction or at most a misdemeanor, but it is not a big deal in terms of criminal severity whatsoever. And then this lady wakes up and she decides she is just not having it. Starts lying about not being allowed to possess an ID, not a driver's license, just an ID, right? And then she tells this cop, "If you try to send me back to Arizona," where she probably had a warrant for her arrest, then I will kill you immediately, making it a felony. Because in the state of Georgia and a lot of other states, when you offer to do violence or can do violence on a peace officer, it automatically puts that at that felony level, which is a much more severe crime. And then she had the audacity to say, "Any questions?" I would have said, "Yeah, why do you need to be so mean? What did I do to you?" And then he's just trying to identify her. He just says, "Don't go anywhere, please." And then this other officer comes who's totally cool and chill as well. And she starts to square up with him, which you hear him say. gets very aggressive, takes that stance, and he's just like, "What are you doing?" Then she gets on her little bicycle when he tells her, "You're not free to leave." So, there's another crime right there, obstruction, and she decides to pedal away. They chase her down, yell stop, and then she just starts in with her nonsense. Starts yelling, "Help, help, help, screaming." I've had to deal with a lot of people like that before that know that they're screwed and they're just trying to bring as much attention to their situation as possible. And in my opinion, those cops handled her and her cussing and yelling very professionally. The best way to deal with somebody like that is to just handcuff them as quickly and safely as possible and put them in the back of your patrol car. Close the door so that nobody else can hear them because she's disturbing everybody in that area at this point for no good reason. When she committed multiple crimes and then she says at the very end, "These cops are just arresting me for sleeping." And the one officer states, "No, ma'am, you're the one that made it like this." Absolutely. So, at most her and this guy would have just been told to move along, more than likely, unless she had a warrant. But she decided just to create several charges for herself, one of which was a felony. So, she 100% made that situation way worse than it needed to be. And that's going to be it for this one. See you guys in the next one. [Music]
