He threw it out the window back there. >> So, where do we think he jumped out at? >> Somewhere between here and Waldrick. And so, there's a witness up here that saw him cross over Wald onto the trail. So, we have a good start point for dog stuff. I'm assuming the SWAT team is being consulted. Um, so that's going to be Bagbie's on his way in and um Pierall's on his way in. So as much as I want to bite this, it's not that's that's not for him. He knows if he hunkers down, he's get caught. >> I agree. >> He ain't he ain't stopping. >> Guess we can just make our way back to >> Yeah. Okay. Can you stop? >> I assume I assume that's where the um >> track's going to start. >> Well, I assume that's where SWAT team's going to want to come in and start their thing and then set up. They're probably going to set up IC right here. >> As more [music] officers arrive on scene, SWAT pulls in and additional K9 units gear up. Miles of forest trails and thick brush stretch out around them and teams begin searching [music] on foot while a helicopter scans from above. But as nightfalls, there's still no sign of Damian Madison. With no fresh leads and the [music] terrain working against them, the search is called off and a multi-state manhunt is issued. 5 days later, Madison is spotted near the Nevada California state line. While dash cam and body cam are notoriously difficult to obtain from California, we do have helicopter footage as the [music] undercover task force closes in on the suspect in hopes of bringing this pursuit to an end. south of Gene northbound I 60. >> Madison was finally apprehended and taken into custody along with his mother who police [music] believe helped him originally escape Washington and remain on the run despite an intensive multi- agency search bringing the 5-day manhunt [music] to an end. Damen Madison now faces multiple felony charges including first-degree assault, drive-by shooting, unlawful possession of a firearm, and felony eluding. He is also charged federally for fleeing across state lines after the pursuit. As a special agent from [music] the FBI noted, this arrest serves as a notable illustration of how law enforcement partnerships [music] lead to successful apprehensions of dangerous fugitives. Thirstston County Sheriff Derek Sanders echoed that praise, thanking the FBI criminal apprehension [music] team for excellent tactics with surgical precision in safely capturing Madison. His fiance, America's Wilson, [music] was arrested at the scene and charged with rendering criminal assistance and obstructing law enforcement. At [music] the time of publication, no sentencing has occurred and all suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
